This little fella, aka Speedo, is turning 6 TOMORROW and I have NO IDEA what to get him. All that he has asked for this year is a wheel of cheese - no lie - and Bionicles. And the Bionicles response is after being pushed for an answer. Personally, I would like to get him something other than a boatload of Bionicles as they have plenty already. I am stumped.
Any suggestions/ideas?
Besides a fresh baggette to go with the wheel of cheese!

People must wonder why we nicknamed our kid after skimpy mens swim trunks. The above picture tells the story. We originally called him "The Heed" after Mike Meyers' brother in So I Married an Ax Murderer. As you can see, E's head was quite large for his baby body. "Heed" changed to "Speed" over time. And now, strange as this is, people comment on how fast he can run. Go figure.
As for the gift, get the boy some bags of baby gouda, and let's go out to that cheese joint in Greenville and get him a sensible wheel. You could make a basic cake that has a rounded off top with bright red gouda wax icing. Or a yellow one with holes drilled in it to make it swiss cheese-lookin. Give the boy what he wants!
A cheese cake - not a cheese cake-cheese cake - I love it. I think a cake that looks like a big slice of swiss would be hysterical.
Strange enough, I should look back through old posts because I don't think that this is the first time he has made such an odd request.
I always meant to ask where the Speedo nickname came from! Now I know...
I agree with Mike - if he wants cheese then give him what he wants!! and I actually like the idea of making a cake in some kind of cheese-likeness.
