Good times!

I am figuring that the last post has been up quite long enough!

I had a great time visiting and catching up with my friends Kelly, Leslie and Melissa over the weekend. We met in Ann Arbor Saturday afternoon and enjoyed a wonderful and leisurely (2 1/2 hours to be precise) meal at The Melting Pot which is a really neat fondue restaurant. Don't know if anyone has ever been there or not, but it was really good - we enjoyed their dinner special called the Big Night Out which came with pretty much a little of everything. The chocolate fondue dessert was heavenly!

Afterwards we headed back to our hotel and stayed up for a few hours chit-chatting. It was so great falling back into conversation with these girls as I have not seen them in YEARS! We all agreed that we need to try and make this an annual thing which I would absolutely love. Sunday we woke and headed to a restaurant called Amer's Mediterranean Deli where I had one of the best sandwiches ever - a generously sized sandwich with falafal, humus and fatoosh stuffed inside a pita. After that we all hit the road back home.

I stopped at the outlets in Howell on the way home and was happy to discover that my favorite store, The Children's Place had opened in a new location that was twice the size of the storefront they were in previously. Needless to say, I picked up some great finds for the boys!!

Sadly, Megan ditched me (I am kidding, Megan!) to teach some exorcise class so I didn't get to see her. :-( Next time!

Upon my return home, it would appear that the boys did just fine without me. I was happy to find that the house was in pretty much the same shape as I left it - which means lots of eating out and away from home activities for the Boy Family. They surprised me by racking the leaves out front which was FANTASTIC! Especially since our tree still has 1/2 of it's leaves which will make for at least one or two more afternoons out there. Too bad the snow has set in!! That's right. We had our first snowfall. I guess I am ready for it. I just wish it wasn't mixed with so much rain.

The Boy Family's weekend without Mom seemed to go over quite well and included such fun activities as a dog show (the boys favs were the Bernese Mountain Dogs and Golden Retrievers), wrestling, late night movie watching, Sunday afternoon movie matinee, a trip to a Chinese buffet restaurant the boys love, as well as a shopping spree at Hobby Lobby and Sunday morning breakfast out. Did I miss anything??? It was quite an impressive display of treats for the young ones. Talk about winning points!!! I guess part of those outings were rewards for the stellar work they did raking the leaves. I would say that it was the perfect display of trying to buy their love, but since they pretty much think that Mike is the be-all, end-all of fun and greatness anyway, it would appear that they were just spoiled.

Thankfully I am back now to return things back to the military camp style order they are used to. Yeah, right. Suuuuuurrrrrrre...

What a great photo of all of you. I know you probably had a total blast and agree that it should become an annual event - especially since the Boy Family seemed to have more than survived quite well. But, I am also sure that all 3 were extremely happy to be home.

sounds like a very fun getaway! You girls all look great.... I couldn't help but start chanting "KKG, KKG... you're the only one for me!!!"

Ha! Too funny. Thankfully Laura, there was no cheering or chanting!! I actually wonder if I heard all of those if they would kick back on in my memory!

I could teach the crew some ATO songs. I specialized in making up filthy limericks.

You all look really good. I take offense at your slam--I would have loved to see you but was only available during your KKG only time:( Please don't feel ditched.

Oh, Megan. You know I am kidding you! I was sad that we didn't get to see each other, but at least you had a good reason and a funny explanation for it! Next time :-)

Thanks for understanding. I'm glad you're laughing AT me--I had to teach at the same place again Monday-I'm turning into such an airhead, I left my watch in the studio:( At least I only looked for it for an entire day before realizing where it was!
