My lack of posting for these last few weeks can best be explained by the following photo ...
Horrible isn't it?! Give me a little motivation and some hand tools and I can destroy any room in your house too!
We live in an old house and the downstairs bathroom has always been one of those rooms that has needed a total redo, yet we have never wanted to take on the project so it has always remained neglected in it's ugly glory since we moved in. Then two weeks ago my parents and brother were coming over for a visit so we decided that we wanted to put a new faucet in the sink as the old one had started leaking. Well, one thing led to another, and I went into full demolition mode scrapping off wallpaper, pulling up vinyl flooring and tearing down ugly wall boards and cabinetry. Am I crazy? Perhaps. I will keep you posted on my progress!!
And as I am finally getting around to pulling pictures off of my camera, we had a nice visit with my family a few weekends ago. Mike planned a wonderful evening of wine and cheese tasting which was great fun. Mike is becoming a regular at a neat wine store in town and has become our house sommelier. Below is a sampling of our evening enjoyment - of course I didn't take any pictures of the actual bottles. Opps.
The happy drinkers...

Well, I have taken a long enough break and need to return to my demolition duties. Wish me luck!!

I was wondering when you were going to surface.
I feel your pain. We just finished the office yesterday! Its done! (at least to the best of our ability-Bryan and I laid the carpet-scary I know!)
Good luck!
COOL! You go girl:) I missed your postings, but am so impressed by this one, it was well worth the wait! GOOD JOB!
The winner wine was the Roshambo "The Reverend" Zinfandel. http://tinyurl.com/558bzc
Close second was a Sicilian wine from the Cusumano family, a not-too-distant relative of the folks that run the wine store. Legitimate businessmen, I swear. http://tinyurl.com/62k6ur Cusumano wines are fun because they use glass stoppers instead of corks.
And it should go without saying that all our wines will be on the cheaper side. It's hard enough to make the transition away from 40's!
Transition from THE "40's" usually happens just before the transition to YOUR "40's"!! :)
I feel your pain - followed up by a mmmm, mmmm tasty fine wine and dine experience. I knew you were busy and also know you will do a wonderful job!!!
Michy...destroy a room, yes that would be SO true! ha! ha! I want to see more photos of you bathroom remodel! what color are you going to paint the walls? what color scheme? inquiring minds want to know.....also why don't you return phone calls? someone bought the boys "gremlins" - hope they don't currently own it!
Love watching the progress. Looks fantastic! Keep up the good work. What's next??
