Boy Family REPRESENT

This morning Speedo and I went to Mass where Michael was chosen to read the introduction for the Catholic Schools Week all school (elementary and middle school) mass! Talk about a packed room. He did a great job and was one of three kids chosen to speak during the Mass. Quite exciting! This time I video taped it but haven't put it on the computer yet.

And as great a job as Michael did, Erickson represented the other side that the Boy Family also has a strong command over. The "not so great" or smart ass side...let's see:

1. Ask why the priests are selling lemonade during communion. Check.

2. "Silently" "boo" and give a thumbs down when everyone was applauding the 8th grade boys choir. Check.

All while the principal is seated directly behind him. I am sure they will get to know each other better in the years to come.

There was one other thing that I remember wincing at, but can't recall what it was right now. It will come to me.

And just for the record. I AM FREEZING. Anytime the warmer weather wants to make an appearance I am ready. Ready and waiting.

And, just for fun, what would you have done to either Me or Michael had we done either of those lovely in-church comedy routines?

I'll answer by stating you can bet had either one of us done something, you wouldn't have forgotten the third offense. You and Speed are lovers.

Well, what can be said? The second child is usually such a well-tempered one. Correct? Could there have been a misunderstanding? Or not? I hope young Michael took it all in stride. He looks like public speaking seems to be coming to him naturally.

Ahh, the second child syndrome...I know it well.

Anyway, fat chance of there being any misunderstanding. When I told Erick that they were indeed NOT selling lemonade, he quickly rebounded with..."then why are they selling orange juice?"

What can I say...He has his fathers gift.

Michael was seated in the aisle next to us so he was spared the comments. Besides, he was too busy checking out the rambunctious Kindergartners behind us who the principal had to come sit in between.

So, what WAS the priest selling? Orange juice seems a little far fetched but a dixie cup of lemonade could be just the trick you need to stay awake in mass.
