And a wonderful time was had by all

We loaded up the car last Thursday and prepared for our voyage down to Columbus. Our eldest nephew, Michael had his Confirmation and Mike had the distinct honor of being his Sponsor. To give you some perspective on how old this makes me feel, Mike and I had just started dating when Kris was pregnant with Michael and this fall he will be starting High School! Where have the years gone???

We had a great time visiting with all of the family and wish we lived closer so we could see them more often!

Our Michael and cousin William are like two peas in a pod and I don't think that they were separated from each other for more than 5 minutes at any given time. Erickson on the other hand bounced around between cousins - studying Stephen's moves on the computer and Michael playing the guitar. We were all impressed by our rock n' roll nephew Michael's guitar playing ability and it was pretty fun watching him "teach" the boys how to play!

I feel quite justified in saying that all five boys logged a ridiculous amount of video game time. Fortunately we had a beautiful weekend and not even the computer could keep them in all day so everyone enjoyed some outdoor sports as well. If anyone needs any ideas on how to cheat in football, look to Uncle Mike...

Enjoy some more pictures from our trip...

Needless to say, Monday morning came too early and we still have not caught up on our sleep. Yesterday Michael had a baseball game (which they tied) and then Field Day at school today. We are all exhausted and I am determined to get everyone to bed at a reasonable time as we have Muffins with Mom at school bright and early tomorrow.

looking like a few new additions to the Apple Dumpling... I mean, khaki pant, blue blazer club. I have it from a good source that Hillsdale College scouts were in attendance sizing up the new recruits.

Kidding aside, I can't believe how old Michael S. is already. It seems like only a few years ago that I enjoyed a heavily Dr. Lew/Kris/Denny subsidized college Spring Break to the Outer Banks. If memory serves, there were some smelly diapers around. I'm guessing that was 1993, but Kris would probably remember better. At any rate, yikes!

Yes, I'm sure you recall the "payment" for that trip in terms of the tortuous cry-ride home!! I'm guessing it was the spring break of '95. I'm sure I'm the only one who can remember because I was the only one who wasn't heavily soaked in alcohol!

That was a long time ago...and 5 houses ago for us! Next time Mike's in town, you should swing by for a visit.
