Much neglectful am I

Too busy a week and I have neglected my posting, which must mean that I have had to step up my duties in the real world. Let's see...what have we been up to lately?

First, a cute little anecdote:

Earlier this week as we were driving home from school Michael asked if I had any extra jewelry that I didn't want and that he could have. Immediately my head starts racing as pictures of the girls in his class flash through my mind...Does Michael have a special someone to whom he wants to give this jewelry?

Bracing myself for his answer and trying to think of an appropriate response, he informs me that his friend Troy wanted to buy a diamond ring for his mom for Mother's Day and Michael volunteered to him that I might have some extra rings laying around that he could give to Troy.

While much relieved that Michael was not wanting to gift any girls in his class, I did my best to explain to him why his thoughtful gesture would not work. Clearly I am so not ready for him to reach that stage in life!

Sports Update
Michael had another baseball game yesterday which unfortunately they lost by one run. It was still very fun to watch as one of his teammates hit a grand slam which Michael scored on! How often do you see that in a game! Michael was pitcher for part of the game so I happily snapped some shots:
Next game is tomorrow morning, bright and early.

Strange Child Update
Today Erick and I were running errands at a store and while I was busy picking out greeting cards, a song came over the radio that inspired Erick to do an impromptu rump shaking dance. I about laughed my head off watching him shake his bottom all over the place. Whoever said that white boys can't dance (can I say that?) has not seen Erick in motion. This child is truly an original.

In other news, I started another site dedicated to our family's newest hobby: Bird Watching. Mike and I thought it would be fun to keep track of all of the Michigan birds we see and what better place then a blog! So should you be interested in taking a peak, go here (I realize it is not for everyone!). I can't promise it will be updated very often, unless we get very good at finding new birds!
