Soccer

We had a gorgeous and fun opening day of soccer yesterday with one victory and one loss. Michael had a fantastic first game and scored the first two goals for his team leading them to a 4-2 win! I was so excited and my voice was starting to get hoarse from yelling/cheering so much. I don't have any good action shots of Michael except on video, but I will spare your ears from that as I was taping while running up and down the field yelling, etc. Yes, apparently I AM one of "those" parents...don't sit too close to me unless you bring earphones. On the one hand, I can use my asst. coaching position as a good excuse if I appeared AT ALL obnoxious! However, on the other hand after listening to the video I have no choice but to acknowledge fully my obnoxiousness.

Michael was psyched when the team chose to go with the name The Pikes which Michael picked out - our summer of fishing lives on... Next we had Erick's first game which is just a whole other ball game if you will. The little guys out on the field are absolutely adorable! Unfortunately Erick's team members scored on their own goal twice or we would have a had a 3-3 tie. I guess they don't keep track of wins and losses at this level though which is probably a good thing!Here is a little video from E's game.... it just cracks me up! They are such little peanuts! I promise there is none of the aforementioned obnoxious yelling in the following clip.

Both boys had a lot of fun playing and we loved watching them. It totally took me back to when I was younger and the hours and hours that I played. Ah, to be young (and in shape) again... .
