I would like to say that I am prepared and motivated for the holidays, but truth be told, I am not truly feeling it yet. On Saturday we had a really fun night out with friends and went to a cool restaurant that we had never been to before, and then on Sunday I took Michael to a fun Christmas party at one of his friend's house. Yet with all of the festivities over the last several days, I am still not feeling ready for the big day. Perhaps it will help when the tree goes up and the house gets decorated tomorrow. At least that is the plan for now. Both boys have Christmas parties at school on Wednesday and then Michael has his Christmas program that night and then time is pretty much running out!
I do have to say that I am very excited about a surprise that we have in store for Michael and Erickson for later this week. As part of an early Christmas gift and in part to reward Michael for his excellent swimming these past months, we are taking the boys for two days to an indoor water park. We have never been before, but I hear it is pretty fun. I think that they will be pretty psyched! Especially since we are skipping school part of the time. Yahoo! Again with the responsible parenting...
So referring back to my unfocused attention in the first paragraph, unless I get a sudden burst of holiday spirit, free time, and motivation -- your holiday card will be arriving, just probably not before Christmas! OK, I sound a little too much like the Grinch or perhaps more like Debbie Downer. Wahhh, wahhhh. I have not lost my holiday spirit, I promise.
