What a week we have had

From sickness to swim lessons to visitors, I am ready for some rest. But as that is not in my near future, we move along. On Tuesday my Aunt Anne called to say that my Uncle Tom had some business in the GR area on Thursday and asked if it would be OK if she came over for a visit. We were happy to have her come over and had a nice visit, packing a lot into a short time.
I decided it would be fun to go to the Meijer Gardens for lunch and to see the beautiful holiday Christmas tree display. Uncle Tom and Erickson were good sports about looking at all of the trees, but I think that Anne and I found more enjoyment in that activity! It is one of my favorite times of year to go as they have a wonderful display of trees decorated in themes of countries from around the world and an awesome train display.

After the gardens, Tom left for a meeting so I took Anne on a mini-driving tour of downtown GR before picking Michael up from school.

After our visit, the boys and I rushed over to Michael's swimming lessons which were followed by a Boy Family outing while I went out for a night of Bunco with some Moms from the boy's school. This was my first time playing the game and it was pretty fun - fortunately for my luck, there wasn't any betting involved!

So as the week comes to a close I turn my attention to weekend activities. Our friends the Thompson's (Jim, Jennifer, Wyatt and Ronan) invited us to a Griffins hockey game tomorrow night which should be a lot of fun. We are having them over for drinks and appetizers beforehand so now I need to think about what to make...Do we go with the always crowd pleasing southwestern egg rolls and pineapple salsa or something a little less fried? Decisions, decisions.

Bunco - I played Bunco when I lived in Elmhurst, what fun! Hope you stick with it, especially getting out and having some Michelle time! Good 4 u! I still think you should join the Junior League of GR! It's a great way to give back to the community!!!!
