Today is Mikey's Birthday! He's 8 years old today...

So Mikey, Happy Birthay!

Well, it happened. This morning at 4:02 am, Michael turned eight. I can hardly believe it.

I would like to say that my pregnancy was easy, however, that would mean ignoring about three months of horrible sciatic nerve pain and all of the loveliness that comes with putting on about 60 lbs! OK, so that last part was probably all my doing! Those things aside, I loved being pregnant with you and I was so excited about becoming a mom for the first time!

I was extremely nervous when it was time for your delivery, but Daddy was a complete champion in the birthing room and I delivered you completely naturally! I took to heart some advice my mom's college roomie gave to me at Aunt Cheryl's wedding the month before you were born...she said something along the lines of...all you hear about is how horrible and painful giving birth can be, but the second you hold your baby, any pain will be well worth the trouble and will go away. And so it was! You brought more joy to Daddy and I than we could imagine!
We are so proud of you and grateful for the kind, creative and loving little boy that you are.
