Uncle Hot Sauce comes for a visit...

Yesterday we had the pleasure of enjoying the company of our longtime friend Claude, or as the boys like to call him, Uncle Hot Sauce. It had been well over a year since we last saw Claude, so the visit was WAY over due.

back in the beginning...

To prepare for his visit Mike went in search of finding a store that had a good selection of hot sauces, as sadly the selection at our local Meijer is LAME. As luck would have it, Mike found a great Mexican store not to far from here that serves up a ton of authentic foods, drinks and sauces.

Mike and Claude's obsession with hot sauce goes way back to our Hillsdale days where they had a crazy amount of bottles in their collection. Here is a sampling of the small collection that Mike has amassed over the last few weeks:

A small collection indeed by their college day standards, but a good start.

In honor of his visit we decided to go with a Mexican themed dinner of tacos and fajitas so they could eat all of the sauce that they wanted. Even Mikey and Erick got into the hot sauce action with glasses of milk at the ready. Other's had something different on the ready:

Uncle Claude's food pyramid

Along with the great fresh chips and tortillas Mike picked up from the Mexican store, this gem below made it into his basket. If anyone is looking to waste $3, this should pushed to the top of your list. Beer, tomato and clam juice, lime and salt. Seriously, whoever thought that this was a good idea should be fired.

All in all, we had a fun time and hope that our next visit will not be so far in between!

Claude? I gotta go grab a year book, but please don't tell HS, as if he'd care.

Thanks again for the hospitality, and for providing such good hot sauce vehicles. After Applejack gets back into town we'll have to get back up there.

Hurry back and visit us. A year + is way too long in between visits and we definitely missed Jackie, or I like Applejack better. We should have had her call in on speaker phone. Next time.
