Happy New Year!

We have been enjoying a wonderful Christmas/New Year's break! Our holiday started with Christmas at home followed by a visit to Columbus to visit Mike's sister Kris and family, and finally ended with a visit from my mom, dad and brother yesterday.

Christmas eve was very special as Michael read us The Night Before Christmas. It was truly very sweet to watch as he curled up with Erickson on Daddy's lap. Santa was very kind to Michael and Erick and brought them all kinds of fun stuff. Although Erick never did receive the two beer bottles and pretend poop that he had been requesting (note earlier post from 11/29). Hmm.

The day after Christmas we made our six hour trek to Ohio, which thankfully was made a little less painful for the boys as they got to enjoy watching movies on their new portable DVD player from Grandma Alice and Grandpa Andy. THANK YOU! I can now foresee many enjoyable and quiet car trips in our future :-)

We had a wonderful visit in Columbus with Kris, Dennis, the nephews and Mike's Dad and wish that they all lived closer to us! It is always fun to get all of the boys together and we wish that we could do it more often. Every time we see our nephews they have grown so much and it makes me feel so old!

Grandpa Lew and all his boys

While we were there our oldest nephew Michael participated in a basketball tournament so we were able to enjoy watching him play in several games. Erickson had fun tormenting his older cousins and especially enjoyed wresting with his cousin Stephen, while the two seven year olds, Michael and William, were pretty much joined at the hip the whole time and logged enough video game time to make someone go blind. It was almost like they would surface for food and then disappear again!

Not to be confused of course with the grown-ups who put in several hours of playtime on the nephews new Wii. Mike had a blast becoming a Guitar Hero but was sadly out shined by our nephew Michael. He pretty much ruled at the game. I on the other hand preferred the tamer bowling game. Even Mike's Dad got in on the action and bowled a few rounds! It was agreed that we would not be surprised if Grandpa Lew bought his own Wii. All in all we had a great visit and were sad to leave.
