Yesterday Michael had a great time at his first baseball practice of the season. This year he is in the kid-pitch league which could make for an interesting season. Originally I thought it was going to be coach-pitch but thankfully there is a little rule where if after the 4th unsuccessful pitch/swing, the kid batting can use a tee to hit the ball. I imagine that was put in for a good reason!
Half of the baseball diamond was completely covered in mud and gigantic puddles so the kids left practice nice and dirty. My washing machine (had it the ability to actually have any emotions) would have been excited when Michael gleefully volunteered to retrieve a ball that had landed completely in the middle of a huge puddle that he would have to almost wade in to get to the ball. OK, so the wadding part might, be a bit of an exaggeration, but anything to get completely dirty is what we are all about! Ha!
Michael's coach seems fun and the kids took to him well so this should be a great season! We have a couple weeks of practice before the games officially begin.
