Hmmm

Can't think of an appropriate title. Anyway... yesterday was a crazy day for us.

After Erick's play date he had a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese's later in the evening. I learned from a friend at the party that the little birthday girl has a crush on Erickson. However, rumor also has it that her crushes are fleeting so I haven't teased him about it in case she has already moved on! Apparently her attention to Erick had replaced a crush she had on the other mom's son! Ha! Too funny.

I will say that having a party there on a week night was brilliant as it wasn't nearly as crowded as it is on the weekends.

Meanwhile, Michael went to a friend's house after school, ate dinner there and then went to baseball practice, from which he needed to be picked up about 45 minutes after the birthday party started. And, as Mike was working late, I had to figure out how to be in two places at once. Fortunately we managed to get everyone where he needed to go and retrieved on time thanks to the kindness of fellow parents. I picked Michael up from practice and we went back to Chuck E's where Michael got to play and run around some more.

Needless to say, both boys were exhausted last night. I imagine it will only get crazier from here as the boys get older and more involved in different activities.

In other news, I am a winner! yahoo! Following in the footsteps of my mother who I remember winning stuff all the time when we were younger, (most notably and favorably ingrained in my memory - a prize package including tickets to go to the now defunct Bob-lo Island!) I won a pair of White Caps tickets from a radio station today.

I don't know what inspired me to call as I am not usually grabbing for the phone every time a contest is on the radio, but today Erick and I were on our way to go eat lunch with Mike when I called and won. Yeah for me!!!

My enthusiasm for todays winnings was only slightly tarnished when I came home and found four ants in my house this afternoon. The tiny, tiny variety that don't seem to die when stepped on. I thought I would at least get a few weeks of nice weather in before I had any kind of invasion but, not so. AGGGGHHHH.

I will sign off with this picture of Erickson who brought me my first flower of the season:

So sweet!

You can see Erickson's freshly shorn hair in this picture too.
