Busy, busy, busy!!!!

Where has the weekend gone? We have been pretty busy here of late, and I for one am ready for it to slow down. I know that it won't any time soon however so I shall just suck it up. Is that rude to say?

Anyway, here is a quick recap of the past couple of days...
Saturday morning both boys had soccer and Michael scored two goals again! I think he has averaged that for each game! Erick's team did much better getting on the score board with a couple of goals - not sure if they won or not though :-)

Saturday afternoon we had to take Michael to an urgent care clinic because he got a shard of glass stuck in the heel of his foot. How did that happen you ask? Well, apparently if you accidentally knock a large bowl down a flight of steps and it shatters into a million pieces on the fourth from bottom step, a shop vac and broom just aren't a guarantee that you will get all of the pieces. Poor Mikey was carrying down a load of laundry and got a shard stuck right in his foot. Our resident splinter remover and doctor Mike did his best to get it out, however the piece was stuck too far into his foot. Fortunately the doctor was able to get the piece out and Michael seems to have healed just fine!

Finally on Saturday night, Mike and I actually hired a babysitter for about the 4th time this year and went over to a friend's house for drinks, appetizers and cards. It was quite fun and we learned how to play a new card game...of which I am forgetting the name. SHANG-HI, that's it. Reminicent of Rummy (one of my favorites - perhaps because it is one of the only games I know how to play) so it was really fun. And as I look it up on Google I see that the real name is Shanghi Rummy so there you have it! As we aren't card players per se we tried to get out of playing, but I am glad that we learned how to play and look forward to playing again sometime. We only need two more players, so let me know if there are any takers!

This afternoon I plan to take the boys out to a nearby farm so they can pick some pumpkins. It looks like it is a beautiful day outside so should be a great day for pictures!

And before I forget...
Happy Birthday Uncle Mark! We hope you have a wonderful day :-) The boys wish you lots of snake bites, pink bellies, and python bites (I am asking Erick for a list of attacks so we may or may not have them all or have them all correct)! All our love!

Glad Mikey is okay. Hope you handle hospitals and blood better than I do! :) I pass out every time!

Wow. You guys are beating down a path to the urgent care. Sorry about Mikey's paw. Put some helmets on those kids and strap them to the couch. Safety first.

I want to hear more about the card game. We are in this card club and Dennis and I suck at cards. Plus, they don't drink so it's even more apparent how sucky we are.

Glad to hear you've got a quick healer--tough little guy. Don't feel badly, when I was little, I was in the basement getting soda. Do you remember when you used to get it in bottles? Well, I was trying to carry too many and long story short, I have a big scar to this day on my right (should be) bicep. What do you plan to do with your pumpkins? Paint or carve? I can't wait to see them! This is it.....when we finally get together, we can play rummy for as long as you'll last, it's my favorite.

Wow... I feel so honored that our weekend made your blog! BUT... I'm even MORE honored that you enjoyed the game. I'm still not exactly sure if your husband shares the same opinion. But, anytime you are in the mood to play, call Jeff and me up. We love playing cards, especially Shanghai.
