Yesterday Erickson had a play date with his friend Patrick. On the drive home from picking him up, Erick informs us that "he had a fun time, but Patrick did something that was completely rude. The rudest thing someone could do."
Sparking the interest of both Michael and myself, we asked Erick what it was that could possibly have been so horrible. E said that he didn't want to say it in the car and that he would tell us when we got home. After the long 5 minute drive, we got out of the car where Erick informed us that Patrick had taken a pair of his [we shall just leave it at one of his family member's] underwear and brought them out to show Erick, giggling all the way.
The story continues that Erick immediately told Patrick to put them back as it wasn't funny, to which Patrick dropped them on the ground and they continued on with their playing. I asked Erick what happened to the underwear and he said that they just disappeared and someone must have picked them up to put away.
Now I tried my best to keep a tight lid on my laughter and agreed with Erick that that was a horrible thing to do and that I was proud of him for telling his friend that it wasn't nice.
However, then I got to thinking....why was this scenario so familiar????
I had to search back a few months and was reminded WHY this sounded familiar...
At least I am happy that Erick appears to have learned his lesson. As I recall that he had a nice little chat with Mike about how this was inappropriate behavior.
