Pumpkin time!

Our bounty.

The boys and I spent a beautiful afternoon picking pumpkins at Brechtings Farm. With walkie-talkies in hand, the boys went on the hunt for their perfect pumpkins. Michael did a great job selecting some nice future Jack-0-lanterns, however Erickson was quickly sidetracked by the plethora of stink bugs all over the place. Something about a boy and bugs.
Michael discovered this funny guy in the middle of the field.

We also picked up a ton of squash and enjoyed one of our fall favorites, butternut squash soup, for dinner. Delicious!!!! And I finally "made" an apple pie for Mike. Well, I use that term loosely. I bought a pre-made pie shell ** GASP ** as we were pressed for time last night and I was short on ingredients (saving my flour for my Amish Friendship Bread - whatever excuse works!). Somehow even that minor detail didn't stop everyone from devouring his piece :-) Erick even crawled into bed with me this morning and the first thing out of his mouth was a question as to if there was any pie left, before he immediately drifted back to sleep.

And not sure if anyone else saw the full moon last night but it was spectacular! We used our new scope from Grandpa Lew (Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!) and had a great view of the moon and occasional clouds passing over it. It was crazy how clear the view was through the scope and I wish I could have taken pictures as you could clearly see some of the craters, yet I have still to figure out how to get my camera to work with it... IF it works with it.

Well, carry-on! I need to mow the lawn before the rain comes.

Before anyone writes anything: SHE LIKES TO MOW THE LAWN. I swear. Honest.

And you should see her shovel snow!

I also like washing dishes, clothes and especially windows. My other favorites include vacuuming, dusting and mopping floors...

OK, call me strange, but truth be told I actually do find mowing the lawn satisfying. Well, at least now that I don't have to use clippers anymore. HA! And shoveling the snow provides a great workout!

You, uh, really don't want to go "there," do you?

I hate to interrupt but you do know that we can see this???

P.S. Michelle, I told you he was a pain to live with.

Confession: "My name is Michelle and I have a problem. My housekeeping abilities are lacking."

There I said it. I went there for you! For us. All out in the open. "Dirty laundry" aired so-to-speak.

And yes, I think I was warned by all members of the family that "he" was a difficult one to live with - yet here we are!

My name is Kris and I have a problem. I hate housework. I suck at it. I believe vacuuming is evil.

Let's try a work stoppage so that the little housework we did accomplish actually looks more significant.

My fear would be that Niecy would show up on my doorstep if that were to happen!

I was about to leave a comment about the mowing, but you cleared that right up for me.
At least you mow the lawn... not only do I stink at housework, I also don't mow or shovel ... as a matter of fact, the hubby is trying to figure out WHAT exactly I do around here:)
