Gobble, Gobble....

What a slacker I have been! I thought that I would update my site from the road but took an unplanned hiatus instead. So where to begin...

Last Wednesday we headed to my parents house for the holiday. We had a nice time visiting with my family and stuffed ourselves with a ton of delicious food. After 33 years you would think that I would have made it to the ADULT table for Thanksgiving dinner, but once again, Mike and I enjoyed eating with the boys at the kiddie table. I wouldn't have it any other way :-)

Thanksgiving dinner was followed by an early Christmas gift exchange where the boys became proud owners of new Nerf guns, complete with laser beams, compliments of Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Mark! Talk about scoring points with the nephews. The rest of the vacation was spent dodging little suction cup darts!

The day after Thanksgiving we skipped the whole Black Friday shopping madness and treated the boys to their first visit to White Castle. We had a family vote to decide where to eat with the choice being between the always favorite National Coney Island or trying slyders for the first time. With much enthusiasm, the boys voted on trying White Castle, so a memory was made as we split two sacks of little greasy morsels of goodness in the parking lot.

After we scarfed down our tiny, oniony burgers we decided to round out our very nearly trashy experience (There, I only said what you were already thinking!) with a few games of bowling. I feel a new family tradition is being started as this was the second year in a row that we decided to hit the bowling alley over Thanksgiving break. Michael and Erick did a great job rolling the ball down the lane and mastered the art of using the kiddie bumpers to get the ball to ricochet where they wanted it to go. By the time we got to our last game, both boys proved to be solid competitors.

All in all we had a lovely Thanksgiving. I will post more about our trip and add more pictures soon!

Funny you should mention that...Mike said that I should have commented on the "pleasant" staff in the drive-thru line. I was reminded that I shouldn't ask questions to the voice on the other end of the speaker as it does not make them happy. Best to just get your food and get out of there.
