I am happy to report that we had a successful time trick-or-treating. The evening kicked off with two, way too generously filled, goody bags for the boys from our neighbors. Right there alone we probably could have stayed in for the night and had candy to last us well into the next week. However, as that scenario would never play out well with the boys, we decided to start our trick-or-treating just as the rain hit a tiny lull. And by tiny I mean it started right up again as we hit our first house.
Somehow this year Mike got to stay home and pass out the candy while I took the boys around. Fortunately I was armed with the only umbrella I could find while the boys sacrificed their comfort to go without so they could get to the houses faster. It was a sacrifice I was willing to make. At one point the rain let up and the sky turned spectacular shades of pink and orange with a huge rainbow right over the top of our house. It was really cool! (My pictures don't do it justice.)
Our evening ended with Mikey and Erickson dumping their loot out on the living room floor for inspection, followed by our traditional family "pizza party" and bellies full of candy.
