What to do. Memories of my childhood have rushed back to me over the last week due to a rash of vandalism throughout the house. Specifically, we have uncovered pen, marker and crayon writing on the walls, furniture and toys. There must be something in the air as I just read a similar post on a friend's website - Laura, we share your pain!
I remember back in the day when my sister and I used to cover our bedroom furniture and the back of our bedroom door with scratch and sniff and garbage pail kid stickers, (how is that for a blast from the past?) not to mention we did our share of writing on the walls. I can feel my parents cringing right now at the memory. Or maybe they are laughing thinking that paybacks are sweet. Who is to say.
Either way, today I came upon the boys, both clearly guilty of something and obviously having just gotten into some serious trouble. Let's just say that the latest offense involved a handful of Star Wars toys and a dump truck that were given makeovers using a blue permanent marker. Not cool, especially when we just had a conversation about NOT writing on the furniture last week. Maybe we needed to be more specific about NOT writing on toys either. Thankfully, these were not the brand new Star Wars toys from Grandpa Lew!
I am just hopeful that this phase will pass us by quickly.

my son's artwork is most definitely payback for what I used to do. Only back then they had to paint over my drawings. where would be without washable markers and the magic eraser??!!
I have added a magic eraser to my shopping list. Poor Luke Skywalker is not going to like this!
Arrr - vandalism around the house from your childhood? HA! HA! I was a perfect angel - just a little nail polish remover on the side table in the living from from Jacobson's. Yea, I got in trouble for that one! Otherwise, how the beach ball you threw that broke and caused me to have stiches on my left hand. HA! HA!
