Last August we had a great time with some friends out on their boat on a little lake called Cranberry Lake in Sparta. It was a month or so before my blogging days or I most definitely would have enjoyed sharing details with you about how nice a time we had.
It was an absolutely gorgeous day and perfect for a leisurely afternoon spent relaxing on a boat and swimming. Michael even learned how to water ski which was really awesome! I tried to relive some of my youth but could not actually stand up long enough on the skis to say that I was successful. But perhaps that is a story for another time. Mike even made a couple of laps around the lake and the boys had a great time in the water. Here are some pictures...
Why am I bringing this up now you ask? Is it because of the nasty cold, wet and dreary weather we have been having? Am I just trying to conjure up memories of warmer, sunnier days? Well, I wish it were that simple. You see, the great time that we were having has been forever marred by this news which gives me the chills every time I hear mention of it.
Apparently we were not as alone as we had thought. And I believe that the pictures that I took of Michael skiing are in close proximity to where the car was found. I don't mean to sound uncaring as I feel horrible for that woman and her family. There is just something so unsettling to me when I think about my family frolicking around in the water above a dead person.

Don't blame you one bit--the lady (that you don't know is) in the water is super frightening.
