Easter weekend recap

I will recap our weekend as I haven't posted in a few days and I am certain you are all wondering what we have been up to! Ha! Saturday night the boys and I dyed our Easter eggs. They enjoyed drawing animals and faces on them with crayons and colored pencils before dying them and I have to say that they turned out rather cute. I am certain that not a lot of households searched for eggs with monsters and scary faces drawn on them!

We had a relaxing and low key Easter this year. So low key that I didn't even get many decent pictures of the boys from Easter morning -- no good egg hunting shots or any of the boys in their Sunday best. Could be that I was just off my game, or that they boys moved too fast and were blurry in most of the photos. However, here are a few from this weekend:

Easter morning started with the traditional egg hunt and baskets followed by a quick candy feast before heading off to church. After church we came home, ate breakfast, and watched the movie Miracle which I thought was great! In the evening we visited with our good friends Bryan and Tracy (aka our GR family) and their four children (two boys and two girls). While the boys played video games and ran throughout the house in their usual rambunctious manner (as will generally happen anytime you throw four little boys together), the girls played Apples to Apples, and the MEN (ha!) watched sports, or something. All in all, a relaxing day.

This morning was a little tough getting back into the school routine having been on a mini vacation the last four days, but Michael managed to make it on time to school so that made me happy. Erickson on the other hand rolled out of bed around 10:30 this morning. I will probably pay for that tonight, but the quiet time was so nice!

Day 8
The gator continues to grow even though several members of the boy family insist that it has reached its peak. WRONG. Today he measured in at a healthy 28"-- up an inch from the past day -- and is holding up extremely well with no missing body parts. I am soaking this toy until it reaches the approximate 32 inches we were promised!
