Thoughts for the day...

Erickson stayed home from school again today. Our poor little Speedo has a runny nose and was tossing and turning all last night so did not feel very good this morning. He is not running a high temperature thankfully, but he is definitely not his usual vibrant self. After taking Michael to school I sent Erick back to bed where he crashed for a few hours. Poor puppy. Hopefully whatever it is will go away soon.

Tonight is a big night for Michael! We are going to a reception for the art show he is in tonight. I am so excited and so proud of him! And, because I think this drawing is awesome, I am sharing it with you. We were calling him "the chin guy", but apparently Michael gave him a more heroic name.
Day 2 - Crocodile Experiment
Because I know you are all wondering...Our new pet has shown quite a bit of growth since we first gave him life. It is actually holding together quite nicely and has not lost any body parts yet (tail bet duly noted, Kris!) or shed any skin, so to speak. We never did tie it down with rocks to keep it fully submerged, but it seems to be growing nonetheless. He is still fitting into his original home, but looks like I will have to do some searching for a new habitat today. I would stick it in the bathtub downstairs which we don't use, but as we have company staying over tomorrow night, I don't think they would appreciate it. Yet, it is just my parents and brother coming to town so maybe I could surprise them...Ha! I kid.

And finally, just a question:
If the" Easter Bunny" buys a bag of candy 2 weeks before Easter time -- let's say it was a bag of assorted tootsie roll candies (rolls, suckers, Dots, etc.) for this hypothetical -- how much candy will be left to put in baskets Easter morning?

a.) The bag will not have been opened, so all of it.
b.) Everything but the tootsie rolls will be there.
c.) None of the candy.

Just wondering.

Does that gator have enough water in that tank? Or perhaps he is up out of the pond for a little flash-bulb sunning.

I'm hoping for your sake, the answer is "c". You should really buy Easter candy closer to Easter when it's on sale, so that other stuff was just to remind you to buy more:)

I have one more thing to say....Grow, Gator, Grow!!!

I'm worried for his tail. It is crimped.

Your concerns have been considered and I am happy to report that the gator has been moved to the bathtub for the next 24 hours. He does seem happier there.

From my experience, when you take the gator out of the water, he will return to his small self. Some of them don't quite make it back to the exact original size but they get much smaller.

You should be reading "Zack's Alligator" books right now. It is this exact situation...except his gator comes to life and goes to school with Zack.

In keeping with the gator theme, I'd have the kids dye gator eggs instead of chicken eggs! I bet you can get them at Whole Foods.

My guess is "B"...especially if the Tootsies were the variety flavors like vanilla and green.

I like that you know we don't have a whole foods, but tell us to go to one. Makes us seem more pedestrian. Well played.

Then go to the Amish market...geesh, I feel a lot of hostility from you. Just put a bunch of ping-pong balls in a basket and pretend.

Ding-ding-ding! We have a winner. Good guessing Kris. The answer to our question is (b). Thanks for playing :-)

Now, I am running out to buy ping-pong balls right away. We will probably have to use markers to decorate... ha! How disappointing would the children be upon trying to eat them.

No Whole Foods? Grand Rapids not friendly to monopolistic organic markets? All so strange.

"Anonymous" obviously has yet to be seduced by the lack of artificial colors or ingredients. The egg display and the fresh seafood is euphoria for this old gal.

All those food colors can make you crabby and bitter.

But those food colors are so pretty.

Crabby AND bitter? Hmmm. That might explain a few things.

I guess the reality is that we have a Meijer on every corner so what more could we really need? Higher standards, lower prices.

It just doesn't have the same ring as "Lower Standards, higher prices", does it?

Where's today's "gator update"?
