Poor puppy

Poor Michael stayed home sick from school today. He has been suffering with a high temperature, headache, sore throat, stuffy nose and stinging eyes and was passed out most of the afternoon. The nurse at their doctor's office said that those are all symptoms of a virus that is going around and we could give him Tylenol for his fever and pain, which I did, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to have kicked in yet. He is so miserable.

We thought it would cheer him up a bit by blaming Erick for getting everyone sick in the first place, but that hasn't worked either. So, please send your positive wishes, thoughts and prayers Michael's way as he could use some cheering up right about now :-(

I suppose it didn't help his mood any that it was completely gloomy all day. We had our first big rain storm of the season (at least I think it was the first) which brought loud thunder and tons of rain.

Weekend recap
Erickson had a sing-a-long yesterday with a bunch of kids he will be going to school with next year. It was fun seeing the kids sing and dance around. However, I am always amazed at how shy my boys can be. At home Erick will dance all over the place and loves to shake his behind to the music (and the boy has moves btw- although I have no idea where they come from!) but in this crowd of kids, he was so quiet and reserved. I suppose that is a good thing.

(MIKEY UPDATE - I think the Tylenol is kicking in as he appears to be running around tormenting, I mean playing with Speedo now.)

Saturday evening we went to see National Treasure Book of Secrets, which is a great movie! We have loved both movies in this series and Mike even went so far to make the bold statement that they are better than the Indian Jones movies, which we all enjoy greatly.

After the show we went to one of our favorite restaurants, Graydon's Crossing, which is designed after an English pub.

The food is excellent and they have a fantastic beer selection. We ordered a beer sampler that came with a great little fruity beer that I really enjoyed called Lindemans Framboise. It was awesome and had a great raspberry taste to it! I don't think you could drink it in large quantities because it is really sweet, but it was delightful.

We started with one of our favorite appetizers, the cheese and banger board which Mike followed with the fish and chips and a side of their delicious curried vegetables (a complex taste sensation), while I picked something from their seasonal menu: a Muggleswick Mushroom (very Harry Potter sounding don't you think?) which was DELICIOUS! They pretty much took some of my favorite items -- portabella mushroom, crab meat, boursin cheese and cilantro -- and mixed them all together.

After we ate, we let the boys throw a few darts before heading home. Again with the responsible parenting: 101. Maybe I should change my blog title...

And for a final report of the evening on Michael, he appears to have responded positively to the Tylenol and is burning off some energy. He was deluged with sicky gifts from Mike when he got home. Mike said that he was going to pick up a little something when he went to the store to buy eye drops, yet managed to come home with a good Christmas stocking's worth of items, much to the delight of the boys.

That's why I've banned Tylenol in our house! Tis best to park your hot little self on the couch until the fever has past!! Our kids had a similar virus(flu??) this winter. All 3 of them had it and it took a week to pass...then they coughed for 2 weeks after that.

They weren't deathly ill but it was a pain in the neck because they missed so much school. It wasn't like the puke-a-thons we've shared!!

Good luck. I hope you all feel better soon.

Yeah, gee Michelle, everybody knows you shouldn't take Tylenol after drinking alcohol, and since the kids were at the pub, well...

UGH. I have tried to wipe the puke-a-thons from my mind, but there are just too many to choose from. I still get queasy thinking about them. SHIVER....

Too funny. I never considered it was a hangover he was suffering from...HA!

And, NO, Megan. No dog right now. Maybe a stuffed animal.

I'll have to ask Dakota next time we see her how she enjoys them! And as we are sick, this would be a PERFECT time for us all to get together, keeping with tradition and all. You guys sound a little too healthy down there. ha!
