We had a nice visit with my parents and Christopher yesterday (I will add pictures later as they are on my camera still). We were slammed with a ridiculous snow storm in the afternoon that shut down the roads, caused a ton of accidents and brought quite a bit of accumulation. But just as quickly as it came, it disappeared and the gloominess has been replaced with a bright, sunny, and warm day. This is the kind of spring weather we are in favor of for Easter break. If Mother Nature tries, I am certain she could melt all of the remaining snow by tomorrow. Yet, I guess so long as we don't' have any more of these little snow storm "surprises" I will be just as happy.
Yesterday we took my family to see Michael's artwork at the gallery. It was nice to go back for a second look as there was only a handful of people around compared to the chaos of Wednesday night. Michael brought a sketch pad with him and he would plop down every so often so he could make a drawing in his book of some piece of artwork that he liked. It was pretty cute. He is like a drawing mad man!
Day 5 and the gator is a strong 25" long and still feels pretty solid. I am telling you, if you can find one today, these would make excellent Easter basket stuffers. And speaking of Easter, today is egg dying day. I threw two dozen eggs on the stove to be boiled - and then proceeded to completely forget about them until Mike reminded me that they were still boiling about 15 minutes past when they probably should have come out. Needless to say, we had some cracking casualties and are down about 5 eggs from the original count. This poor guy was the worst offender:

I have been so impressed by gator growth that I made a trip to "Uncle Fun" to see what they had in the way of growing creatures. As Jackie and I checked out the cashier remarked, "Oh, I see you found our growing section." Keep your eyes on your mailbox. There will be a couple more items to grow. For myself, I got a pinata and voodoo guy. Sorry, can't send the voodoo guy. It was listed for 13 and over.
Why were the eggs neglected? Look no further than this page, the other member of our family.
OUCH. That hurts. This page is FOR our family.
And, FUN! Can't wait to see what the mailman brings! What is this "Uncle Fun" place? Is this a familiar stop for Uncle Hot Sauce? You will need to keep us updated on your new toys!
Uncle Fun is a little store in town that has all sorts of crazy stuff. Examples on any given day could include: fake dog barf, giant pez, rubber chickens, two headed dolls, x-ray glasses, and many drawers filled with various fake bugs and rodents. In a word, fun.
A scene from a West Michigan-area family therapist:
Husband: "This blog is tearing our family apart!"
Therapist: "That's a good start. But restate that in a more positive way."
Husband: "Our family is being torn apart by this blog!"
Therapist: "Good! Great progress!"
Sorry ladies, just doing a little name editing, but in an effort not to lose your comments:

I think you should name this new way to (over)cook eggs. You've got the hard boiled egg, the over easy, the poached, the deviled, the scrambled....the....the....the ****** "special"?

As a (former) member of the ****** family, I order you to cease and desist the use of "**** Special" in reference to these strange egg formations.
As Mike can confirm, the only thing our mom could cook was a "nice egg".
Case closed.
I get it! Auntie Kris is the BOYS aunt, not Mike's!
Sorry, didn't mean to disrespect the family name:(
