Happy St. Patrick's Day to you!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Our day started with Erickson staying home from school because he had a really nasty cough this morning. Fortunately he must have had the luck of the Irish on his side as he sounded completely better by 9:00 AM and continued to play all day long as if nothing were the matter.

Mike had to work late tonight, so the boys and I were on our own to celebrate St. Patrick's day. And in honor of our Irish heritage (according to my parents math, I am 1/8 Irish which I get from my paternal Great Grandfather), we decided to eat at... Taco Bell. That's Irish, right? No? I accept that it was a lame choice given the holiday, but no one seemed too upset about the decision. I usually make a traditional corned beef roast and all the fixings, but since Mike wasn't going to be home I decided to put off the big meal until tomorrow so he could enjoy it with us. So tomorrow we will have our St. Patty's day meal while tonight we digest a little taco fiesta.

As the boys had holiday gift money from Grandma Judy burning holes in their pockets, we started off the evening by going to Schuler Books where Michael and Erick each picked out a stuffed animal that they had seen yesterday when we had gone there before church. Michael was extremely excited as this was the first time he had taken his own wallet, used his own money, and handled the whole transaction with the cashier himself. It was funny because after he made the purchase he commented on how he was happy to have their new toys but it stunk that the money was gone. Yes, Michael. Yes, indeed.

Michael also picked up a crocodile toy that is supposed to grow really big when soaked in water. It starts out about 11 inches long and allegedly grows up to 32 inches over a 7-14 day period. I anticipate that this will provide much entertainment in our house over the next week or so.

Well, that pretty much wraps up the excitement from our day and as I am exhausted I am off to bed.

Am I the only one wondering where two and a half feet of soaking alligator will be stored for a 7-14 day period?

Wait just one minute! What money from Grandma Judy? We didn't get any money from her.

Payment will be having the alligator using up the bath tub for the next two weeks!

I just took a shower, what, a week ago. So I'm not due for another 20 days. I'll be fine.
